Life's Odyssey - 3 S of the Saturn.

Life’s been in a frenzy for what seems ages now. Ages since I let my hair down in a care-free abandon, painted the town red, skirted the outskirts on a long drive, had a blast, met up long-time friends, or simply just been ‘ME’. Have been lost in this roller coaster ride of my life and am totally clueless as to when would it ever take a detour towards a straight and pleasant route. Anyway, never the one to complain – I am enjoying the rickety rackety back-breaking ride and soaking in the heat of life’s summery days. Hopefully, cool lazy winters are not too far away.                 For a few years, often heard from the knowledgeable, “Hey Purnima, your ‘Sade Saat Satti’ is on “. Initially had never taken it seriously, in due course gave it a thought now and then, and recently have been just keeping my pulse in control, crossing out every passing month in a descending chronology to step out of this seven and a half years’ eclipse of my life. Sigh! Eigh

An Ode to my Students!

(Top) A few of us with Meena Mam (Bottom)Our 1st get together after the training was over & the classes began       E very time when I think,‘Now this is it! My life’s settled…nothing more to come!’ And out of the blue, comes a beautiful bright spark, throws its light on me & adds a few more colors to my life.       I can boast of  having had 17 years of  a gratifying career in the field of academics, voluntarily bid adieu to it and thereafter for a couple of years settled down to a life of sublime domesticity. Thought, that’s it! Couldn’t have been more wrong – came this opportunity knocking at my heart. ‘Take it up, take it up, take it up’, my heart said. My mind tried showing its dominance by putting its foot down! Heart cajoled, mind refused… heart pleaded, mind was bemused, heart persuaded, mind finally obliged! Opened my heart & life to this simple opportunity, ‘Teach India’. A platform which would fulfill my wish to be attached to NGOs, working towards

Come off it...give her a chance! Leave her alone & read this book :))

All the fuss over our guest from Pakistan, Ms.Hina Rabbani Khar just escapes my understanding. Had we under estimated the youth power of our neighbouring country?? Its certainly amusing to see how from day 1 of her visit, people have spoken more on her dress style, on her beauty, on her oomph factor...but nothing about her intelligence.Come on do grant her the respect that she deserves...she has got a rich political influence all thru out, maybe even before she was born. Its in her genes, she has had a creditable education & a very modern & sophisticated up bringing...she is a woman of today...does being from Pakistan make it any different??                              One of her aunts, Ms.Tehmina Durrani has been an author to one of the best sellers, which has been an eye opener to many across the globe. Her book, 'My Feudal Lord', is an autobiography of sorts, but more than this, it has shown the world, how strong a woman can really be,once she has

Is it the rain or is it u, Bryan?

Coming back from my early morning class, the torrential rains lashing against the window panes  compliments my mood perfectly on this lovely Thursday morning. Making myself a steaming cuppa and topping it up with my  favorite  track gives me an all time high. A perfect setting for my time  with Bryan Adams…. “To really love a woman, to understand her… Get to know her deep inside, Hear every thought, see every dream, Give her wings when she wants to fly & When you find yourself helpless in her arms…… You know you really love the woman! You love a woman tell her that she’s really wanted, You love a woman….tell her she’s the One!” Bryan….you would always remain my favourite crooner. To the hard core romantics – do listen to this age old number, sure to make you fall in love once again!
